PROFESSOR MANFRED KETS DE VRIES, Distinguished Clinical Professor of Leadership Development and Organisational Change at INSEAD, spoke as part of the Asian Institute of Finance (AIF) Distinguished Speakers Series 2016 at Sasana Kijang, Kuala Lumpur. The event entitled ‘Riding the Leadership Rollercoaster: An Observer’s Guide’ was held on 2 December 2016 and attended by more than 180 professionals from the industry.
Organisations are like automobiles. They don’t run themselves, except downhill. They need people to make them work. And not just any people, but the right people. The effectiveness of an organisation’s employees, particularly individuals in leadership positions determine how the organisation will perform. What distinguishes great organisations from mediocre ones are the attitudes of its people.
